Mrs. Stansel's Suggested Cooking Methods

For White Rice

Step 1: Combine the following in a 2 or 3 qt. saucepan.

1cup uncooked rice
2 cups of water
1 tablespoon of butter
1 teaspoon of salt

Step 2:
Bring to boil.  Stir once or twice.  Lower Heat.

Step 3:
Cover lightly and simmer for 15 minutes or until
 rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed.

Rice Cooking Step #3


Step 4:
Fluff with fork and serve.  Makes 4 to 6 servings.
      For drier rice, use 2 tablespoons less water.

For Brown Rice you should double both the water and the cooking time.
